Rae: Thank you for your comment. I am not sure what the long term effect of my ketogenic diet will be, but I think my 17 lb weight loss has been beneficial. I have continued the largely ketogenic diet, but liberalized it somewhat, now that I am at my weight goal, but I still weigh myself daily. I have never been really heavy, just heavier than I wanted. I also cycle a lot and climbing hills is clearly easier, being lighter. My hemoglobin a1c is also lower. It was not bad, but was creeping to around 6, which is just over normal and is now 5.7. I certainly feel fine on the diet and do not feel that it’s difficult. We shall see, but it really is the only diet that got my weight down in a reasonable amount of time.
